Fortis 5th Grade - Week 34 (May 10-14, 2021)

My dearest families,

Words cannot express how much I have enjoyed working with this precious group of students this year. 
Thank you for supporting me, for working so hard, and for allowing me to come alongside you in your kids' educational journey. I have been truly blessed!

I pray that you all have a wonderful summer--relaxing, exploring, and enjoying each other's company, and I hope to see many of you back at Fortis in the fall! It will be time to begin another school year before we know it!

Bible	Finish Job	Work on memorizing all lines for the skit.	Read selected excerpts from Song of Songs	SUMMER BREAK ASSIGNMENTS: * Read something true, beautiful, and good every day. * Do about 15 minutes of math at least three times each week. * Swim, climb trees, make blanket forts, and play with your friends every day! * Enjoy spending time with your family, especially when you are traveling for vacation. * And most importantly, spend time with God every day, reading his Word, talking to him, and listening!

BIBLE/VIRTUES: God created a world that is orderly, with one thing following another. Spring always follows winter. Night always follows day. Adulthood always follows childhood. Order around us creates order inside us. Orderliness gives us peace of mind. It's why many of us thrive when we have schedules, but life feels out-of-control and scary when we don't. Orderliness is a virtue we develop to achieve our goals by doing the things we should do when/how we should do them. Orderliness is being neat and living with a sense of harmony. If we are organized, we know where things are when we need them. We are able to solve problems step-by-step instead of going in circles. Orderliness is a particularly valuable virtue in school or in the workplace, so we should make every effort to develop it in our children.
