BIBLE/VIRTUES: Our classroom virtues this month are self-discipline and patience. We will discuss ways that we can practice self-discipline at home, at school, and in our relationships. We will look at the incredible patience of God toward us and encourage each other to let his example overflow into our relationshups with one another. The schoolwide virtue for the month of February is compassion.
- Improve speed and recall of math facts.
- Assess mastery of addition facts.
- Multiply a decimal byu on tenth or one hundredth.
- Multiply a decimal by a decimal with products up to three decimal places.
- Practice adding, subtracting, and multiplying decimals.
- Review previously learned concepts.
- Divide a decimal by a while number.
- Divide a decimal by a whole number resulting in a quotient to the hundredths, including cases where the quotient is rounded from the third decimal place.
SPELLING:
- Assess mastery of words with the sound of /ŭl/.

HISTORY JOURNAL ASSIGNMENT: Choose one of the following inventions or innovations and do some brief internet research to answer the questions that follow:

SCIENCE:
- Identify key facts in a non-fiction reading passage.
- Know the general sense (touch) and the five sepecial senses (sight, taste, hearing, smell, and balance).
- Understand how the senses of sight, taste and smell work together to help us enjoy food.
- Develop a heart of compassion for the peoples of the world who don't yet know Christ.
- Memorize the names and locations of the countries of South America.
Geography: A hard copy of the maps can be found behind the "maps/poems" tab in your child's binder. Additional maps, as well as MP3s of the song, are available at this link: Geography Resources. History: Students will memorize 24 key date this year. The key dates have accompanying jingles that do not have to be memorized, but will help students memorize the dates and retain details about the events to which they correspond.
