BIBLE/VIRTUES: Our classroom virtue this month is humility. First, humility is considered to be one of the primary educational virtues, because without it, we cannot be open to learning. More importantly, God comands us to humble ourselves in his sight and to be "completely humble and gentle." He asks us not to think of ourselves more highly than we ought, but rather to "think of oursleves with sober judgment." He says that in humility, we should honor others above ourselves. The schoolwide virtue for the month of February is compassion, which helps us to focus on the needs of others. February, a month when we celebrate love, is a good time to practice both of these virtues.
