MATH:

HOPES & DREAMS ESSAY: Parents: Using the checklist, ensure that all required elements of the introduction and conclusion are included in the correct order and that dress-ups/openers are included and properly labeled in the correct margins. Compile all parts of the rough draft and staple them together in the correct order: intro, body paragraph 1, body paragraph 2, conclusion. Staple both checklists to the front.
READING:
- Summarize a passage through oral narration.
- Summarize a book in one paragraph.
- Identify virtues, as well as elements of truth, beauty and goodness, in reading passages.
- Expand vocabulary and improve reading comprehension.
LATIN:
- Assess mastery of previous week's vocabulary words and maxim.
- Learn ten new vocabulary words and a chapter maxim.

HISTORY:
- Know what the Industrial Revolution was and articulate some its most significant positive and negative impacts.
HISTORY JOURNAL ASSIGNMENT: Choose one of the following inventions or innovations and do some brief internet research to answer the questions that follow:

Questions:
1. Who invented it or whose idea was it?
2. What previous knowledge, ideas, or technology from others did the inventor/innovator use to design the model that eventually became successful?

5. How did it work? What did it do? (2-3 sentences)
6. How did this invention or innovation (new way of doing something) change the world? (2-3 sentences).
7. Were there any unintended negative consequences from the invention?
8. Include a picture or drawing of the invention you chose or a picture to represent the innovation.
SCIENCE:
- Assess mastery of concepts related to the nervous system.
- Know what the five special senses and the one general sense are.
- Understand that senses are interrelated and work together to communicate to the brain.
GEOGRAPHY:
- Develop a heart of compassion for the peoples of the world who don't yet know Christ.
- Memorize the names and locations of the provinces of Canada.
- Know some basic facts about Greenland.
MEMORY WORK:

History: The key dates have accompanying jingles that do not have to be memorized but will help students memorize the dates and retain details about the events to which they correspond.
